Certified Bookkeeper (CB)

All FunCPE courses are acceptable for Certified Bookkeeper CPE credit. CBs in every state can receive credit for our courses.

The American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (aipb.org) was founded in 1987 and has a current membership of 30,000 certified bookkeepers. The institute focuses on:

• achieving recognition of bookkeepers as accounting professionals,
• keeping bookkeepers up to date on changes in bookkeeping, accounting and tax,
• answering bookkeepers' everyday bookkeeping and accounting questions and
• certifying bookkeepers who meet high, national standards.

The AIPB bookkeeper certification program does not require continuing education in order to maintain your professional bookkeeper certification. All CPE is optional, however the AIPB does recognize the importance of professional education in maintaining and improving bookkeeping comprehension as well as staying up to date on bookkeeping best practices.

The AIPB recommends courses in the following subject areas for CBs to expand their skills, knowledge and value to employers or clients:

The AIPB does not require periodic renewal of the Certified Bookkeeper certification, and there is no deadline for completion of continuing education.

Accordingly, FunCPE courses in the following subject areas are recommended for CPE for CBs:

• Taxation
• Accounting and auditing
• Advisory Services
